DREAMS OF JERSEY
Last month I had a tarot gig in New Jersey, Channel Islands. It was the first time I’d ever been and I was more than pleasantly surprised.
I was put up in The Grand Hotel which had a beautiful seafront view, and a gorgeous spa. I felt very honoured to be in such a picturesque place and was looking forward to my tarot gig the next night.
THE DEVIL’S HOLE, JERSEY STORIES
On the day I arrived, I set off to a place I’d found on Atlas Obscura (my little travel bible) called The Devil’s Hole formerly known as ‘Le Creux de Vis’ or Spiral Cave. It’s on the coast which is apparently a natural crater.
The path onto the Devil’s Hole was near a pub called The Priory Inn. Before I set upon my journey I sat in the pub which I found a little spooky, and after speaking with barmaid, I discovered that it is haunted.
The pub used to be a three bedroom family house where a grandfather had passed away in the corner near a fireplace.
Throughout the Priory’s history, there has always been talk of a presence in the abode.
The barmaid told me that the ‘back bar’ recently had a lot of activity, punters reported seeing apparitions and ghostly figures “And they were quite sober at the time…" she said.
Another local told me about ‘The Ledges,’ also known as the Witches Steps which were built outside the building to keep evil spirits away.
After hearing all of these tales it was the perfect time to visit the Devil’s Hole. With The Priory Inn immersed in so much haunted history, I couldn’t wait for my meeting with the devil.
I actually did a tarot reading for the devil himself! Please check out my video on my blog here and check out what happened!
